Fall 2019 Student Volunteer - Tumaris

Hi folks, My name is Tumaris ,  I am an international student from Xinjiang in Northwest China.  I am a member of a minority group in China.  If you are curious, you can come over to our event and I can tell you more about my experiences. Now I am a sophomore student at UAlbany, majoring in accounting.  I was a volunteer in the university’s Intensive language English Program. Whether you are an active person or a shy person, I hope that you will live outside of your comfort zone and join us. I have more stories and experiences to share, as so many other students here. Project MyStory is a different program where you can learn you can share, make new friends, and find a new world – a new home for yourself.  We are here to welcome to you to UAlbany!

The first program is Monday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m, in Science Library Room 340. The topic of the evening: “Adjusting to a New Academic Culture: It’s a Different World.”

Project MyStory Student-to-Student Postcard Back

Established in March 2015, Project MyStory is a community building effort to help students better acclimate to UAlbany and to work more effectively toward their goals. We began in UAlbany’s Academic Support Center (ASC), where you will see many of the posters featured above. We are now co-housed in ASC and in the Center for International Education and Global Strategy (CIEGS).
