Every semester, students may apply to earn community service credit by becoming Project MyStory workshop facilitators, panelists, bloggers, and/or vloggers. Our students select themes that are important to them and that they feel are relevant to their peers. They write blog posts, hold small group discussions, and give presentations throughout the semester guided by the themes they have selected. Students are also welcome to share their stories just one time. We feature participants on our blog, in our office, and in advertisements and promotions. Click Here to Apply!
Spring 2020 Options:
PLAN A CONFERENCE FOR KIDS
- Help facilitate our 3rd “I Am” Storytelling Conference for a local class of 5th and/or 6th graders. Project MyStory joins with Skribblers, Inc. to coordinate this incredible event. Between the planning and the day of the program this is about a 35 hour commitment. The next conference will take place on Thursday, April 9 from 8am – 2pm (including set-up and clean-up).
- Select a theme that you think will resonate with UAlbany Students – especially New Danes, and work on your series throughout the semester. You can even turn a post into a workshop. Does that sound scare? You would have plenty of support. You may also blog about the Dinner and Discussion themes. See below!
HELP FACILITATE OUR SPRING 2020 DINNER & DISCUSSION SERIES
- The Student-to-Student Success Series requires multiple layers of support. We need panelists, facilitators, bloggers, marketers, and more. We have a list of topics for Spring 2020, but it may change based on feedback from this semester’s attendees.
