So here we are about to face finals week then off for Christmas break. I don’t know about you, but I’m sure as hell-happy this semester is over. We have faced a lot of challenges together. Though I may not have known your circumstances, I have felt comfortable enough to share my stories with you all. Just to be able to help someone who might be going through the same thing as me is motivating.  You guys inspired me to open up and be my true self, Without you, I wouldn’t have kept it together this semester. I know there are many of us who have walked past someone, and didn’t know the story behind that persons smile; why there seems to be so much sadness behind their eyes,  even why they seemed so closed off from the world. I am here to tell you not to be afraid to smile. Smile at someone and ask them how their day is going? Share a positive energy even if you’re not feeling so up. That one compliant or cheerful word, could brighten someone’s day.

The main focus for my blogs this semester was love, patience, and acceptance. Everyday, in all of our lives, these three emotions are expressed. As time goes on and we experience new things, nothing ever becomes easier. There will be many moments where we have to ACCEPT our failures. Accept the fact that things won’t always go as planned. Realize that in life there is no definite answer on how thing’s will turn out.

Having PATIENCE and taking the time to evaluate a situation, can be helpful to all of us if we try. Now I am not saying that things can be fixed easily, that would go against everything I have previously said. But if we have patience, and accept things for what they are at the moment, we will see a big difference in our outcomes.

Overall having LOVE within your heart, and realizing you have people around you expressing this emotion, helps quite a lot. Regardless if you feel the love is there or not, know that you are never alone. It is never a good idea to open up to everyone, but remember to not keep everything locked in. The last thing I want to leave you with is this:  As times get harder and you feel like giving up, remember that nothing last forever. While you are in pain now, tomorrow or even next week will bring a brighter day.

Until next times guys!!!

Peace, Love, Happiness

This has nothing to do with Ana’s blog, but after reading it, I started singing this song – Enjoy!  – Rachel Moody, Project MyStory Coordinator

Established in March 2015, Project MyStory is a community building effort to help students better acclimate to UAlbany and to work more effectively toward their goals. We began in UAlbany’s Academic Support Center (ASC), where you will see many of the posters featured above. We are now co-housed in ASC and in the Center for International Education and Global Strategy (CIEGS).
