UAlbany and Albany Law School are collaborating to host the Theodore Jones Moot Court Competition in April 2017. Moot court involves studying a hypothetical problem and associated judicial decisions, crafting arguments in support of the positions advocated by the parties in the hypothetical case, and then delivering oral arguments to judges – much like the arguments presented in the U.S. Supreme Court. To prepare students for this experience, Professor James Acker of the School of Criminal Justice will offer a 3 – credit class during the Spring semester. Enrollment will be limited.
If you are interested in learning more, and perhaps participating in the moot court tournament and class, please attend an interest meeting that will take place Wednesday, December 7th at 4:30pm in the new Business Building 137. Professor Acker will provide further details and answer questions. We hope to see you there. If you cannot attend the meeting but would like further information, please contact Professor Acker at jacker@albany.edu.
